Chrysanthemums are a flower synonymous with Mother’s Day. They have the word ‘mum’ at the end of the name and flower in April and May in Australia. While ‘mums bloom at a specific time of year, they can be planted at any time; however, if you have bought some chrysanthemum plants, they would need to be in the ground in spring or early summer in time to bloom the following autumn.

There are lots of awesome varieties and colours of chrysanthemum, but I love the cream and gold Seaton’s J’Adore variety above, as well as the sculptural pink Shogun variety below.
