For the last 7 years I’ve been growing dahlias and trying out the best places to buy dahlias tubers in Australia. Surprisingly, I found that more modest flower farms have come up with the goods (IMO) over the big companies.

Where To Buy Dahlia Tubers In Australia | 2023 Edition
Southern Highlands Flower Farm (NSW): offers a large amount of dahlia tubers as Farmer Jen plants over 700 different varieties on her property!
Serenade Flower Farm (QLD): offers tubers grown by Bec McConnell at her amazing Tamborine Mountain flower farm. Tubers usually go on sale in August.
Salisbury Grange (QLD) (*that’s me!): offers a very edited selection of dahlias grown in my Brisbane backyard, with tubers used to thriving in very hot Queensland weather.
Wild Violet Farm (VIC): offers really stunning dahlias grown by Sam Webb in Victoria including the enormous Carlos Watermelon variety. Sam is very fair and only allows one or two tubers max per for popular varieties.
Rose & Abraham (VIC): includes a stunning but edited selection of around 10 beautiful dahlia tubers and often includes Cafe Au Lait in the mix. Owner Elisabeth also regularly offers wildcard tubers for a reduced price.
The Grove Country Gardens (QLD): is an under the radar Queensland gem with a solid tuber variety. They also offer dahlia plants including Cafe Au Lait varieties for sale.
Mount Joy Cottage (VIC): run by Kirsten Moore has been garnering a following for her dahlia tuber sales each year and she has lots of interesting varieties including dinner plate dahlia winners Cornflakes and Buckajo.
Artful Dahlias (TAS): is for people growing in cooler Australian climates and this Tasmanian business has a great selection of dahlia favourites for sale each year.
Dahlia Hills Farm (SA): South Australian Dahlia Hills Farm offers a large range of around 80 dahlias varieties in many beautiful colours and across all sizes, including the sought after Kotara variety.
Aravis Flowers (WA): I discovered Allie MacFarlane from Aravis Flower’s dahlia beauties on Instagram and look forward to her dahlia sale each year. She’s a great source of information about flower farming too.
