Welcome to Salisbury Grange!
I started the Salisbury Grange website in 2023 to share information about growing organic flowers and veggies at home, and how simple it actually is, based on my own journey as a newbie gardener over the last 10 years.
As a writer, recording the details of my garden experiments from growing a mini sunflower field, to trialling ancient wheat and building a balcony garden for my Mum is fun to me.
However, the more I learned in my own garden, the more reverence I had for the environment, the rhythm of the seasons, and all of the bees, butterflies and animals that visited my garden.
I came to believe that learning to grow our own food, even a little bit, is our own responsibility. Especially when the companies we currently pay to grow our food lean on using pesticides and genetically modified seeds. Also, it tastes way better home grown!
The name Salisbury Grange comes from my ultimate inspiration: my beloved grandparents and their garden in the Brisbane suburb of Salisbury. They grew food in their backyard for over 50 years and their soil was so incredible that any seed that dropped in there grew instantly!

Happy gardening,
